Our Story

Transporting goods from our family to yours

KAM is a family owned and operated New Zealand Company specialising in primary and aquaculture transport solutions. It is part of the Preston Corp Group, and is closely associated with Preston’s Master Butchers, Preston Foods, Ken Wilson Meats and Taylor Preston.

Originally KAM was established to transport meat and meat products from the City Abattoir in Wellington (now Taylor Preston) to local outlets. The name (KAM) originates from the initials of the office team at the time: Ken Wilson (founder), Andrea (the office lady) and Margaret Wilson.

We have now expanded to a modern fleet of more than 60 trucks, five depots located in Auckland, Wellington, Hastings, Blenheim and Picton, and a transport network spanning from Timaru to Auckland. We cater to a wide range of third party logistical needs and we work with our clients to provide innovative solutions, tailored to their business’ needs.

Today KAM transports animal by-products from meat processors, bulk product to farms, primary products to factories and warehouses, and finished product to warehouses and retail outlets across and throughout the country using a modern fleet of Scania trucks and a diverse range of trailer systems.

We are proud to hold the Toitū enviromark gold certification across all our Preston Corp brands. A Toitū enviromark gold certification is a high-calibre environmental status achieved only by those who have a proven ability of taking meaningful environmental actions to reduce their carbon footprint. As of 2025, KAM is the only transport and logistics company of its kind in New Zealand to currently hold this status.
